
doc. PhDr. Tomáš Vlček, Ph.D.
Tomáš Vlček works at the International Institute of Political Science of Masaryk University and also lectures at the Department of International Relations and European Studies in study programs Energy Security Studies, International Relations and Energy Security and International Relations.
He is a member of the Center for Energy Studies – an independent research platform, a Senior Expert of the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) Energy Strategy Expert Group (EESEG), and a member of the Czech Nuclear Education Network academic association. He was selected for the International Visitors Leadership Program, the prestigious professional programme run by the United States Department of State, and also initiated and manages the widely respected International Summer School of Energy Security, held every August in Telč since 2012. He has taken part in nearly 30 government and academic research projects on energy security and energy policy, has presented dozens of papers at international conferences, and has undertaken a number of research visits to Russia, USA, and countries across Europe, especially in Central and Eastern Europe as well as South Eastern Europe. His research specialization focuses on geopolitical aspects of energy, nuclear energy, and energy security of post-communist Europe.
