Mgr. Martin Jirušek

Martin Jirušek is a specialist at the International Institute of Political Science, lecturer of the Energy Security Studies program at the Department of international Relations and European Studies, Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University and member of an independent research platform Center for Energy Studies. He graduated in European Studies at the Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University.

Martin is professionally focused on energy security in the central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and transatlantic dimension of energy security. He has published several articles and has given presentations on several occasions on conceptual foundations of energy policy of CEE countries and the European Union, role of Russia in energy sector in CEE and potential impacts of US energy exports. Martin has been in charge of research and educational grants focused on the Visegrad and CEE countries. He also co-organizes the annual summer school on energy security of the Department of International Relations and European Studies, Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University.
