PhDr. Tomáš Vlček, Ph.D.
Tomas Vlcek works at the International Institute of Political Science of Masaryk University and also lectures at the Department of International Relations and European Studies in study programs Energy Security Studies, International Relations and Energy Security and International Relations. He is a member of the independent research platform Center for Energy Studies and the academic association Czech Nuclear Education Network.
He is also the initiator and manager of the prestigious international summer school of energy security held every beginning of August in Telč. He is a graduate of the prestigious professional program International Visitors Ledership Program of the United States Department of State. Before that, he used to work as a project financial manager at the Faculty of Social Studies. During his previous years he has taken part in numerous of government as well as academic research projects. He completed many research visits to Warsaw, Moscow, Brussels, Berlin, Washington, Sofia, Bucharest, Chisinau etc. His scholarly interests include energy security of the Czech Republic and the region of Central and Eastern Europe, especially the eletricity utility sector, the nuclear sector and the oil sector.
