Past Projects
Czech-German Day
Czech-German Day at Masaryk University was an event organized by IIPS, CEVRO Institute and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung that brought together representatives from both countries. Our aim was to introduce German and Czech organizations which promote German culture in the Czech Republic, enhance cultural exchange, study and work stays in Germany and also to get students to know their activities. The event was held on 15th October 2009 at the Faculty of Social Studies. One of the most important parts of the event was a conference on „Reforms in Central Europe and Their Political Consequences". Papers were presented by Mirek Topolánek and Mikuláš Dzurinda among others.
20 Years
On Thursday, 5th November 2009, the winner of the competition for secondary school students named ‘Twenty Years of Freedom - Democracy Is Not for Granted' - was announced. The announcement was followed by scholarly conference debating twenty years of democracy in the Czech Republic. It was organized in cooperation with CEVRO Institute, Pant, and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.
EU Headliners
EU Headliners project was targeted to inform journalists and students of journalism about European Union and work of the members of the European Parliament. It was supported by European Parliament grants scheme (DG Information) as the only one in the Czech Republic in 2008. Summer school on the EP was also part of the project, as well as the series of conferences and work brunches in the regions.
EP Generation
The aim of this project was to enhance knowledge of the Czech public on the role and work of the European Parliament. This project was targeted towards young people between 17 and 23 years. Project was conducted by Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, in cooperation with Institute for European Politics EUROPEUM and International Institute of Political Sciences of Masaryk University. Project was financed by the European Parliament and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.
Kaleidoscope of the European Union
Kaleidoscope of the European Union was a project conducted from 2007 to 2008 by the IIPS. It was aimed to educate teachers in the elementary school about the topics on the European Union. Its goal was to improve the level of knowledge on the EU by innovative and interactive lectures and to not only give the information on the EU, but to help the teachers to work with it and interpret it and pass it to their students.
The Future of the EU
Project ‘The Future of the EU' defined the aims of the Czech Republic and its ideas on the future of the EU with respect to upcoming Czech presidency of the European Union in 2009. Project was conducted by IIPS with financial support from the Government of the Czech Republic.
Study for Practice
Study for Practice project was conducted between 2006 and 2008 by IIPS. It was supported by the European Social Fund and Ministry of the Education of the Czech Republic. The aim of the courses educated within this project was to enhance the ability to compete of the students on the job market through practically oriented courses.
How to Deal with the EU
The project How to Deal with the EU was a series of lectures by the IIPS in cooperation with Jagello 2000 and kind support from the Government of the Czech Republic.
