Communist Law in Czechoslovakia

What was the main problem of communist law? Was it only its application by particular people, or was it the influence of non-democratic politics - or was it the system itself? If the revolution came later, would we finally experience bright future, as promised? On which values was communist law built? Is there any contribution of this law to 'world treasury of jurisprudence'? Should we go back to some of its institutes, or more precisely, is it a positive thing that we preserved them? Published in Czech, available for order here.

Twenty nine authors altogether answer these questions in thirty papers divided into four parts. First of them encompasses texts on wider philosophical and historical settings linked to communist law. The second one offers analysis of individual subfields of law, main institutes, personalities and development trends. Third part is dedicated to the analysis of both legal regulations and actual reality of work within most important law professions. Finally, the fourth part includes several personal memories of the communist law era. The book is published in Czech language.
