How do women return to the job market after the maternity leave? What does influence their behavior? Which problems do they face and how do they solve them? The author elaborates on the macro-social settings of the topic such as institutional conditions (family policy and job market policy), cultural context and structural conditions of the job market, most importantly the position of women and women with children on the job market, as well as micro-social links such as personal preferences of women in the area of combination family and work life, microeconomic pressures on the households and the influence of women human capital. The second important part of the publication is elaborating on the outcomes of qualitative research in which we examine how are influences mentioned above perceived by women themselves on the individual level in times of transition from maternity leave to job market. The aim was to examine the influence of concrete factors with special focus on public policies in this process.
