Caspian Region Between Europe and Russia
The conference 'Caspian Region Between Europe And Russia' will be held on 25th November 2009 in Brno. Papers will be given by Vakhtang Darchiashvili; Vladimir Simonak, representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic, author of the book:'Azerbaijan: Between the East and the West', reporter and ex-spokesman of the UN mission in the Republic of South Africa, Angola and Namibia Vladimir Sigov, and the director of the International Institute of Political Science of the Masaryk University, Oldrich Krpec, among others. This event responds to the growing importance of the Caspian region in both European and world politics, therefore it will present number of significant topics. The papers will deal with frozen conflicts in the region, energy security, the relations between Caspian countries and the EU and Russia or internal transformation of these countries.
The conference will be accompanied by interesting program including the exhibition of the photographs or the debate "Georgia - one year after the war" with direct participant of the conflict.
Conference is organized by International Institute of Political Science of Masaryk University and will take place at the Faculty of Social Studies (Jostova 10, Brno), room 52. It will start at 9.30 and finish until 14.30. Working language of the conference are both Czech and English with interpretation. The conference will be followed by the reception.
