Conference "Caspian Region Between Europe And Russia"

Conference "Caspian Region Between EU and Russia" will be held in Brno on 25th November 2009. The papers will be presented by Vakhtang Darchiashvili, Vladimir Simonak, representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic, author of the book Azerbaijan: Between East and West, reporter and ex-spokeperson of the UN missions in Angola, South African Republic and Namibia Vladimir Sigov, and director of the IIPS Oldrich Krpec, among others.

Conference on American Politics and Thomas Jefferson

Smith International Center for Jefferson Studies, Monticello, USA and U. S. Embassy in Prague organize a conference on American Politics and on Heritage of Thomas Jefferson, third president of the USA. Conference under auspices of professor Petr Fiala, director of the university, will be attended by U.S., British and Czech scholars.
Conference on the Council of Europe and European Court for Human Rights

It is organized by the Czech Centre for Human Rights and Democratization, which operates under International Institute of Political Science of the Masaryk University, in cooperation with the Council of Europe and the Faculty of Social Studies of the Masaryk University.
National populism in the Visegrad countries

International Institute of Political Science of Masaryk University in cooperation with International Visegrad Fund and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung will hold an international conference on national populism and nationalism in political parties among the Czech republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia. The event will take place on October 18th 2011 at the Faculty of Social Studies with participation of experts from the V4 countries. The conference will focus on current development of societal moods of the concerned countries, adaptation of their political parties on the EU membership, and socio-economic globalizing tendencies. The outcome of the project „National Populism in Visegrad Countries" supported by International Visegrad Fund will also be presented at the conference.
